ART CLASSES NOW ONLINE
Big benefit of online art classes: your child can follow from the comfort of your own home anywhere in Amsterdam via Zoom!
Yes, art classes continue online with different art projects each week, inviting your young artist to reflect on this special time, to use their own home and neighborhood as art material, and learn new skills to help express their unique perspective. Your child's artwork will be a lasting document to help remember this unprecedented time in our lives.
In our first class, each child will create his/her own flag to represent wishful feelings and hopes. As inspiration we will look at: Tibetan prayer flags, Amsterdam artist Sarah von Sansbeeck's recently performed poetic World Remembrance flag, and a provocative flag made by smoke by Irish conceptual artist John Gerrald.
Curriculum includes drawing skill development plus painting and collage inspired by
contemporary and historical artists. For the oldest class, extra time will be spent on developing and refining artwork for portfolios. Weather permitting, we will go outside and draw from nature. I emphasize artists whose work can been seen in Amsterdam museums. Last class includes a review of all artists.
